Johnston Atoll

Location: Johnston Atoll is located about 1328 kilometers southwest of Honolulu, Hawaii in the middle of the North Pacific ocean.

Natural Resources: The natural resources consist of both terrestrial and aquatic wildlife such as numerous types of birds, sharks, turtles, and assorted fish that live in the coral reefs to the north of the islands. The islands also had guano deposits that were depleted in the 1890's

Topography: Johnston Atoll is mostly flat land with its lowest point being ocean level and its highest point being 5m. The area of the island is 2.8 sq km and there are coral reefs located to the north of the island, making up the atoll.


Climate: The islands have a tropical climate but are usually dry and have little to no seasonal change throughout the year.
